These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Lafio (the "Service"), operated by Lafio ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Who you're contracting with
The Service is provided by Lafio. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation or household, you confirm you have the authority to bind that group to these Terms. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
2. The Service
Lafio is a household management app that provides shared chores, meal planning, a live grocery list and related features. Some features are free, and additional features are available on a paid subscription ("Pro").
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose.
- Send spam, malware or otherwise interfere with the Service or other users.
- Attempt to probe, scan, scrape or breach the security of the Service.
- Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you put into the Service (chores, meals, grocery items, household data). You grant us a limited, worldwide licence to host, store and process this content solely to provide the Service to you and your household.
6. Intellectual property
We retain all rights, title and interest in the Service, including its software, design, branding and documentation. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for the duration of your subscription or free use.
7. Subscriptions, payments and billing
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, taxes, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms, available at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time via your account settings or via paddle.net.

8. Service availability
We work hard to keep the Service running, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features at our discretion.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- You materially breach these Terms or our acceptable use rules;
- Your account presents a security or fraud risk;
- Payment for your subscription fails and is not resolved;
- Required to do so by law.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. We will retain or delete your data in line with our Privacy Notice.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
